The purpose is not to decorate the site with black holes because black holes are cool, although humanity has certainly built worse editorial strategies.
The section favors explanations that preserve the physics without punishing curiosity. A useful reference entry should tell a reader what a concept means, what assumptions are hiding underneath it, how the quantities relate, where the approximation stops being trustworthy, and what to read next.
02 / ROBOTICS + CYBERNETICS
Movement is easy until it has to be safe, repeatable, and useful.
This section covers robotics, prosthetics, sensing, actuation, controls, haptics, assistive systems, embedded hardware, and the stubborn engineering problems that appear when a machine has to touch the physical world.
Cybernetics is treated as a systems problem: intent, sensing, feedback, error correction, adaptation, and the boundary between operator and machine. Bodies are not beta hardware.
03 / AI + COGNITION
One confident answer is not the same thing as one good answer.
Cyberdelia's AI work focuses on structured multi-perspective reasoning, persistent differentiated cognitive roles, selective routing, adversarial interaction, evidence-aware convergence, and measurable comparison against conventional single-agent workflows.
The deeper public-interest question is cognitive security: how people can use increasingly persuasive systems without confusing fluency for authority, simulation for personhood, or generated inference for private knowledge.
04 / PROGRAMMING + SOFTWARE OPERATIONS
Build it, inspect it, break the assumption, preserve what matters.
Software here includes programming and architecture, but it also includes the actual workbench: network and protocol analysis, lawful security testing, reverse engineering, firmware and embedded utilities, diagnostics, forensics, recovery, automation, scientific computing, privacy tools, archive infrastructure, and Cyberdelia-built software.
The department separates tools we build from tools we review and tools we legally preserve. Security and greyhat material is framed around systems the operator owns, administers, or is explicitly authorized to test. Every useful tool should be understood as an instrument: what it measures or changes, what evidence it produces, where it lies, and how another operator can reproduce the result.
05 / ENGINEERING + AEROSPACE
Make the drawing answer to the machine.
Mechanical engineering, fabrication, electronics, diagnostics, embedded systems, field repair, experimental hardware, aerospace, and hostile-environment design live here.
The operating philosophy is practical: define the mission, identify dominant failure modes, choose serviceable architectures, instrument the prototype, and preserve enough evidence to understand why revision two is different from revision one.
06 / INTERVIEWS + REFERENCE
Good interviews are temporary laboratories.
Cyberdelia interviews are meant to extract working knowledge, not manufacture celebrity wallpaper. Ask what people consistently misunderstand, what failed, what evidence changed a mind, and what remains unresolved.
The reference layer preserves durable pieces: definitions, diagrams, sources, worked examples, corrections, and links between topics. Interviews age. Reference should age more slowly.
07 / HUMAN SYSTEMS
Survivability before slogans.
Mental health, relationships, cognitive security, autonomy, coercion, recovery, and social systems are treated as operational problems without pretending people are machines. The central question is what preserves function and agency when conditions degrade.
This section does not optimize for wellness wallpaper. It looks for warning signs, thresholds, recurring costs, failure modes, protective resources, professional scope, and the difference between something that feels good and something that remains survivable.
08 / PUBLIC RECORDS + FOIA
Do not ask readers to trust the archive.
The Bureau of Released Information preserves FOIA releases, declassified material, administrative correspondence, and public records with provenance attached. Original source objects, hashes, release context, folder structure, and transformations belong in the chain whenever available.
Searchable copies are useful; silently altered evidence is not. Source, access derivative, and analysis remain separate so readers can inspect the record without inheriting our interpretation.
