ASTROPHYSICS / OPEN-INSTRUMENT / SETI

SEARCH THE ARCHIVE LIKE THE SIGNAL MOVES.

Cyberdelia's SETI work is being built as a reproducible downstream-data program: preserve authoritative public observations, reconstruct instrument context, aggregate long time baselines, test recurrence and motion hypotheses, and publish the method whether the answer is interesting or boring.

BOUNDARYUnknown is a valid result. A repeated or unexplained signal is not an extraterrestrial conclusion. Source custody, instrument behavior, terrestrial infrastructure, and competing explanations come first.

PROGRAM LANES

Not one search. Four connected kinds of work.

The point is to make public scientific data more reusable and more interrogable across time, not to duplicate somebody else's candidate list with louder typography.

01 / OPEN INSTRUMENT NETWORK

Acquire context, not screenshots.

Track public telescope, observatory, radar, catalog, and archive products with instrument/operator, observation time, processing level, source identifier, attribution, and Cyberdelia transformation history.

02 / HISTORICAL RECONSTRUCTION

Rebuild notable observations from the evidence outward.

Recover original or best-available records, beam geometry, receiver characteristics, timestamps, frequencies, later analyses, and what information has been lost before retelling the story.

03 / ARCHIVE REANALYSIS

Use newer methods on older data.

Apply bounded, reproducible software to public surveys, transient catalogs, candidate events, and rejected detections where cross-catalog or long-baseline analysis can test a concrete question.

04 / TECHNOSIGNATURE CONTRIBUTION

Return artifacts, not vibes.

Useful outputs include validation, cross-checks, negative findings, reproducible code, source manifests, machine-readable results, uncertainty, and documented failure. External cooperation comes after evidence of competent work.

PROJECT 001 / SOURCE ACQUISITION

Wow! Signal Reconstruction

Reconstruct what was actually observed before arguing about what it meant. The project begins with primary and best-available records, instrument context, beam geometry, receiver behavior, timestamps, frequency behavior, later follow-up, and explicit separation between direct observation and later inference.

The flagship question is not “was it aliens?” The useful question is what the surviving record permits us to reconstruct, which conventional or astronomical explanations remain viable, what later observations genuinely tested, and whether a physically constrained recurrence hypothesis points to older observations that were never associated with the original event.

Current state: project schema and method defined; source inventory and mirror acquisition still required; no Cyberdelia analysis result is being claimed.

PROJECT 002 / STAGING

Long-Baseline Recurrence / Ephemeris Engine

Instead of asking only whether the same frequency reappears, model whether detections separated by years share physically consistent motion, drift, acceleration, geometry, and recurrence.

Orbital and signal reconstruction diagram

NORMALIZE

Put detections into one spacetime vocabulary.

Timestamp, observatory location, pointing, beam geometry, frequency, bandwidth, SNR, drift rate, instrument state, raw-data reference, and RFI classification become comparable records rather than isolated observing sessions.

Data aggregation and software pipeline diagram

CORRELATE

Lay historical orbital infrastructure over the radio sky.

Known satellites and spacecraft are calibration targets and rejection tools. Historical state vectors or orbital-element epochs matter because present-day orbits cannot simply be propagated backward across long periods and treated as truth.

Prediction and backsearch schematic

BACKSEARCH

Let a fitted hypothesis predict where to look backward.

If recurring detections support a candidate period or kinematic family, predict historical time/frequency/geometry windows and search archived observations along the expected track, including signals that fell below an earlier threshold or were rejected under different assumptions.

COMPUTE GOVERNOR

Massive compute is a later activation stage, not an excuse for unbounded jobs now.

Every serious SETI job will carry a project ID, dataset ID, CPU/GPU/memory/storage ceilings, duration class, checkpoint strategy, priority, and stop conditions. Interactive site workloads retain protected capacity. Scientific jobs are preemptible unless explicitly designated otherwise.

PUBLICATION CONTRACT

Article, archive, and analysis package stay separate but linked.

Long-form Cyberdelia writing explains the result. The FTP preserves evidence and packages. The research manifest records question, method, assumptions, compute state, source custody, reproducibility, and result state. A correction changes the record visibly instead of silently rewriting yesterday.
